Hewed Flesh gives you a chance to spawn a corpse on hit. You always use the Bone Spear core skill so that the monsters suffer the Vulnerable debuff and your minions cause more damage as a result. The base skill is irrelevant as you won't be using it.

The Bone Golem can taunt your opponents, making them focus on him. The Cold Mages generate Essence for you through their attacks, allowing you to use the Bone Spear more often. The Reapers have a chance of creating a corpse with their attacks, so you always have enough corpses to buff your minions, even in boss fights. It is never boring and you are always actively involved. You summon your minions, buff them passively and automatically re-summon fallen minions and they do most of the work for you. In Diablo 4 I find that it is probably the most enjoyable and chilled build.
Summoner has always been my absolute favorite in every Hack & Slay.
